Godfred Kwame-Nyamekech Yankey, MD

A graduate of New York University’s Cardiothoracic Surgery Program, Dr. Yankey began his medical education at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH. He completed his General Surgery residency at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Yankey then went on to complete his fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery with a focus in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery at New York University Medical Center in New York City. Prior to his medical training, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Howard Univeristy in Washington, DC.

Dr. Yankey also completed two years of research during his time at University of Maryland. He has given numerous presentations and has authored several articles in peer reviewed journals as well as a book chapter.

Dr. Yankey is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and specializes in coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG), valve repairs and replacements, aortic surgery, lung surgery and minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
