Michael Yu, MD

Michael Yu, MD graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Finance from West Virginia University. He later earned his Medical Degree at West Virginia University, graduating in the top quartile of his class. His postdoctoral experience includes an internship and residency in the Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University, and sleep medicine fellowship at Vanderbilt University.

Since 2007, Dr. Yu has given lectures on topics such as chronic meningitis, peripheral nerve vasculitis, sleep apnea, cardiac remodeling, and sleep-inducing and wake-promoting agents. In 2013, he was a key speaker at the Annual NeuroScience Symposium. Dr. Yu is also actively involved in community education, speaking on Driver Fatigue and Safety for various businesses in the area.

Dr. Yu is the Medical Director of the Center for Sleep Medicine at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, and is Medical Director of the Stroke Committee at StoneCrest Medical Center. He also serves on the TriStar Neuroscience Council, and is a member of the TriStar Neuroscience Quality Subcommittee.

Dr. Yu began employment with TriStar in March 2010, as a General Neurologist and Sleep Disorders Specialist at Skyline Neuroscience Associates. In November 2011, he joined TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center as Medical Director of the Center for Sleep Medicine, and began his role as General Neurologist and Sleep Disorders Specialist for Middle Tennessee Neurology where he continues to serve the local community.
