David Briseno, MD

David L. Briseno, MD, FACC is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, and he practices with South Texas Cardiology Specialists in San Antonio.

Dr. Briseno attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed both his internship and residency at Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Briseno completed his cardiology fellowship at the Hermann Hospital at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.

He was drawn to cardiology by the famous TV doctors - Ben Casey and Marcus Welby who inspired him as a young child. Later, it was the challenge of this field of medicine and a thirst for understanding how the heart functions and acts as the engine of the body that drove him to become a cardiologist.

Dr. Briseno practices in downtown San Antonio, and also sees patients at both Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan and Methodist Hospital South in Atascosa County.
