Andrew VanOsdol, M.D.

Dr. Andrew VanOsdol is a general surgeon with fellowship training in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gastrointestinal Surgery. He is the only surgeon in South Dakota who is fellowship-trained in bariatrics. Dr. VanOsdol attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. He completed his General Surgery Residency at the distinguished Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis., where he received excellent broad-based general surgery training and specialty training in endocrine, breast and colorectal surgery.

Dr. VanOsdol remained in Wisconsin after his residency to complete a fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery. He received specialty training in minimally invasive surgery, with a focus on diaphragmatic hernia, anti-reflux and bariatric surgery. Dr. VanOsdol is a native of Rapid City who enjoys running, biking, fishing and playing with his three kids.
