We have the largest private fishing fleet in Alaska. And at Waterfall Resort, all-inclusive guided sport fishing means expert guides, North River cabin cruisers with state-of-the-art Furuno marine electronics, top-of-the-line equipment (G. Loomis, Shimano) and all-weather gear (XtraTuf, Helly Hansen), and on-property fish processing and packaging.

Add to the above our Alaska-style all-you-can-eat buffets and spirited Lagoon Saloon, and our unmatched on-site Alaska Airlines service. On your departure day, you can check-in your luggage and fish boxes at the resort, right through to your final destination.

Record-Busting Cannery to Legendary Fishing Lodge
But there’s another huge reason why our fishing is so good. That’s our storied location on Prince of Wales Island’s western shore. Here, nutrient-rich spring runoff, a craggy coastline, and a confluence of ocean currents combine as ideal habitat for millions of bait fish that, in turn, attract not only multitudes of halibut, lingcod, and rockfish, but also the annual returns of Southeast Alaska’s mighty salmon schools.

These seasonal runs inspired the pioneering fishermen who, in 1912, established our fore-bearer: the record-setting Waterfall Cannery.

Building on that foundation and a century of angling prowess, Waterfall Resort Alaska opened its doors in 1980. Today, operating in our restored cannery buildings, we host nearly 2,000 anglers each season.
