Dr. Gundersen first graduated from the University of Washington after graduating with a degree in Microbiology. He then attended Pepperdine University and received a master's degree in ministry. After getting married and working for several years at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, he decided to pursue a career in dental school. He returned to the University of Washington School of Dentistry and graduated with his degree in 1999.
