Every company has a start. The goal of every company centers on solving a problem. Back in 1970 when Edward Glassman opened his men’s store, he did so because he wanted to follow his passion- men’s clothing. The challenge- Ed wanted to offer his customers something different than the competition. The solution- Ed went to Europe to bring back merchandise not found in the Philadelphia market-imports from Paris. He caught the competition sleeping and was able to get a head start building a business focused on European merchandise.
From 1980 until 2009 Wayne, along with his father, grew the business into an internationally recognized menswear store. A seven thousand square foot menswear emporium dedicated to selling the best. Fast forward to 2009, once again the market had caught up to the more nimble independents. The bigger, “slower to change” stores had now traded up and were selling better products. Once again, there was too much similarity among stores. The solution, Wayne Edwards Workshop- a personalized custom clothier. A menswear company designed to address the exact needs of the individual. A company where ideas are exchanged, and solutions are reached-Always in a fun, no-pressure environment.
