Robert Kalimi, MD

Dr. Kalimi joined North Shore Univeristy department of Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2004 after serving as clinical instructer in surgery at Columbia Presbyterian College of Physicians and Surgeons where he specialized in Minimally invasive and Robotic Cardiac Surgery. He is the editor of "Clinical Scenarios in Thoracic Surgery", and has published several articles in the field of surgery. Dr. kalimi was designated America's Top Surgeons for 2011 by the Consumres' Research Council of America and is board certified in by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Kalimi is the Vice Chairman of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Southside Hospital and holds the title of Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. Dr. Kalimi has particular interest in complex mitral valve repair, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, aortic valve surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting surgery, and surgery for atrial fibrilaltion.
