Description: Hi everyone! My name is Melissa Woodruff and I’m a fine art portrait photographer in Utah County, UT. I met my amazing husband, Joseph online. From the very moment I first heard his voice on the phone I knew I was going to marry him. We eloped exactly 60 days after we met. We have one picture of that evening, taken with one of those cheap disposable film cameras. It’s a terrible picture complete with red eyes, flashy washed out faces yet at the same time totally underexposed. Awesome. We have now been married for almost 14 years! We have 5 children, a cat and a beautiful home in picturesque Eagle Mountain. I have hundreds of beautiful pictures documenting everything from my kids’ first teeth to my oldest winning the pinewood derby. You know what I don’t have? Almost any pictures of myself! I only have a few more of Joseph. I always felt so self conscious about how I looked and rarely bothered to hand over the camera. I always thought, “I’ll have my picture taken when I’ve lost weight” or “I’ll have my picture taken when I have time to get my hair done and buy a new outfit.” Does that sound familiar? I now realize how silly that is. I was beautiful then and I’m beautiful now. Not only that but it’s really important for my kids to have pictures of Joseph and me- especially pictures of us with them. I don’t wait anymore to have my picture taken. I have my picture taken frequently so that now and 10 years from now Joseph, the kids and I can see pictures of all of us the way we truly are- extraordinary and beautiful!"
