I am a surgeon who specializes in using minimally invasive techniques to perform abdominal surgery. I have double-board certification in Colon & Rectal Surgery and in General Surgery. I have written chapters in well-known surgical textbooks, published peer review articles and presented my work in National Meetings.My scope of practice includes: colon and rectal cancer, cancer of the small intestine and cancer of the anus. Diverticular disease, and inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn s disease and ulcerative colitis). Anorectal problems (hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, rectal prolapse, fecal incontinence), pilonidal cysts, colorectal health. Gallbladder problems, diseases of the appendix and the small intestine. Inguinal, umbilical and incisional hernias.My training enables me to perform procedures in a way that helps people return to their normal lives as quickly as possible. Specifically for patients with colorectal problems, my goals in addition are to avoid a colostomy and help my patients preserve important aspects of day-to-day life, such as bowel, bladder, and sexual function. Specifically for patients with complex hernias, that often coexist with colorectal problems, my goal is to repair their hernias while restoring their body image in the best way possible. In my practice, I believe in personalized patient care. No two people have the same needs of surgery. Taking the time to get to know my patients helps me fine-tune the procedure to meet their needs. My team and I are easily accessible to answer any questions that my patients may have, with the goal to guide them and their families before, during, and after surgery.
