After over 40 years of coaching professional singers, I have found many, if not most—unfortunately myself included at one time—sing in a way which actually obscures their voice. Their technique (or lack of technique) hides the natural beauty, range and fluid expression of their natural voice through manipulation and misuse in an attempt to “control” their voice. I believe that the goal for the singer is to honestly and authentically become the song. To bring out their unique, pure and natural voice.
