George Trois

After leaving the famed Le Francais Restaurant in Wheeling, Michael Lachowicz took his passion for French cuisine and several members of the Le Francais team to the North Shore to open his own restaurant. His vision was to take French comfort food out of the bistro and back into the restaurant while giving it his own twist that made the cuisine more suitable for the modern palette.

A small red brick building on Green Bay Road decorated with a blue awning and a small sign, that now act’s as the restaurant’s logo, opened its doors as “Restaurant Michael” on October 10th, 2005.

Patrons of Restaurant Michael to this day are greeted by familiar faces and are able to enjoy delectable French cuisine at a reasonable price. Many of the staff members that work there today have been there since the beginning and are just as much a part of the Restaurant Michael experience as the food itself.

Now after 10 great years in Winnetka, Michael Lachowicz is taking the French cuisine experience a step further by introducing George Trois.
