Ortega Family Agency: Allstate Insurance

My father, Armando Ortega, opened Ortega Family Agency in 1990, right here in Avondale. I remember watching my dad sell insurance inside a Sears store in the ’80s, always dressed in a suit and making customers smile. I was so proud of my dad. Today, we're still family owned and operated, and I'm as proud as ever to follow in his footsteps by serving as an Allstate representative.
I've lived in Avondale since 1988, and it's amazing to have grown up here and to now give back to the community through my agency. From supporting local schools like Carl Von Linne Elementary School to sitting on the board of the Avondale Neighborhood Association, I try getting involved however I can.
Each year, I team up with a group of agents to support the Night Ministry, an organization that provides housing, healthcare and human connection to struggling members of the community. I'm an annual sponsor of Chicago Run, Northwest Arts Connection and the Latino Social Work Organization. During the summers, I organize the Avondale Summer Clean & Green, in an effort to keep our community looking beautiful for residents.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Susie, and our three children, Samantha, Nicolas and Natalia. We have three dogs, Daisy, Milo and Ducky, that keep us busy, as well. In my spare time, you'll probably find me fishing, golfing or running through Brands Park. I also teach Sunday school at my church. I love engaging with teens on how to live happy, moral lives.
