Santa Monica Center for Oral Surgery and Dental Implants

Santa Monica Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was founded in 1975 and we are the oldest OMS practice in West Los Angeles. For over 40 years, our outpatient practice has resided in Santa Monica and our hospital privileges at Providence St. John’s Health Center. Over the years, it has been our pleasure to treat patients with issues ranging from pathology of the jaws with subsequent reconstructive surgery, temporomandibular joint disease, dentoalveolar surgery, and of course, orthognathic surgery.

Our founding partners were Drs. Rick Rutkowski and Bruce Sanders. A few years later Dr. John Given joined to make it a three surgeon practice. Together, they branded our practice, Santa Monica Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1985, Dr. Ralph Buoncristiani joined, followed by Dr. Howard Park in 1999. In 2009, Dr. Richard Ting joined, followed by Dr. Gil Ivry in 2016. In July of 2018, Drs. Park, Ting and Ivry decided to add a fourth partner for the first time in the history of our practice, Dr. Jeffrey Tanner.

Today, we are known as Santa Monica Center for Oral Surgery and Dental Implants. Different brand, same level of exceptional care. We are committed to providing an exceedingly positive experience for our patients, community and fellow healthcare professionals that exhibits integrity, compassion, honesty and teamwork.
