I love photography for so many reasons, the most important reason being that it captures a moment in time to cherish forever. Photographs can be an instant smile on your social media, or a hundred-year-old image of your great-great-great grandmother. It’s your first dance at your wedding, family photos at the beach, your dogs playing with your grandkids. Photos help bring it all together.

I was once told by a fellow photographer “The best camera you can have is the one you have with you.” Nothing could be truer.

I started capturing the world around me using a camera at a young age. In high school I remember being envious of the upperclassmen who took Ms. Morris’ photo class and proudly wore the loaner manual Pentax camera around their necks throughout the school day. When I took photography courses, the calmest I ever felt was in the darkroom. The low amber lighting, the sloshing of the photo in the baths, the clicking of the lamps to get the focus and lighting just right on my paper.

Today, photography has become a digital realm. Darkrooms are going away, but that doesn’t make the process of getting the right moment any less impactful. From special event photography to every day portraits, I strive to truly capture the real world, your vision, and so much more. A picture is truly worth a thousand words, and in many cases, a lifetime of memories in your world.
