Barbara Novak, MD

Dr. Barbara Novak is a Board Certified psychiatrist specializing in anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and various types of conflicts, offering individualized care to patients in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. She accepts patients of most ages, from “tweens” to older adults.  Her office is conveniently located in Bethesda, Maryland with easy access to Washington, D. C., northern Virginia and nearby communities in Maryland. Dr. Novak received her medical degree from the University of Virginia and then went on to complete her residency at the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital.
Dr. Novak uses her many years of experience to help each patient overcome his mental and emotional issues. She continually strives to provide her patients with the best treatment available. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Novak has taught at Georgetown University School of Medicine, supervised other mental health professionals, and has worked as a member of a psychiatric team at the Washington Center for Eating Disorders and Adolescent Obesity. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
