The Boiling Shrimp Seafood Kitchen & Oyster Bar

Cleburne’s Cajun seafood destination, The Boiling Shrimp, launched its lunch menu this week offering 27 different items for $6.95 to $7.95 or $8.95 for two appetizers. Just four months old, The Boiling Shrimp has a stream of regular customers who eat there four and five times a week. The menu includes three different salads with blackened, bang bang or butterfly shrimp; eight appetizers that range from bacon wrapped shrimp to fried calamari; six entrees that feature grilled salmon, chicken and shrimp brochette, blackened tilapia, blackened shrimp, bang bang shrimp and pork kabobs; five baskets or po’boys that include catfish, calamari, crawfish tail, popcorn shrimp, and butterfly shrimp. The management enjoys suggestions from customers and has added menu items at the customer’s request. The lunch menu is served from 11 am to 2 pm.
Co-owners Bill Taing 38 years combined Japanese steakhouse management and cooking experience. Bill, a chef in the Japanese steakhouse industry for 38 years, created several of The Boiling Shrimp’s special sauces. They are fulfilling the American Dream of immigration, hard work and successful ownership. Bill is a Cleburne resident as well.
“We want people who come in to feel like family,” “we added a kid’s menu at the customer’s request.” The owners invite you to sign your name on the fence pickets outside the front door as you come in. “I do not own this restaurant, we all own it, all of us,” soft spokenly explains his management philosophy. “We want quality and consistency in our food and service. That is our goal,”
Cheerfully decorated in a nautical theme, the restaurant boasts indoor, patio and some café seating. The hours of operation are Monday thru Thursday, 11 am to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday, 11 am to 10 pm, and Sunday, 11 am to 8:30 pm. They also serve beer and wine.
