College of the Redwoods (CR) is a public two-year community college with its main campus of approximately 270 acres located on the southernmost edge of Eureka in Humboldt County, California. This unique and breathtaking campus is situated on a naturally occurring, elevated shelf on the southwest side of Humboldt Hill and has stunning views. The campus was designed to be spacious and distinctive in its modernistic use of massive, exposed wooden support beams in each structure. Many students are drawn to its natural setting, nestled into a coastal forest. Some of the unique programs offered are fine woodworking which was started by master woodworker James Krenov, a police academy, dental programs, truck driving School.
