Candies by Vletas

With over 100 years of candy making experience, Candies by Vletas is a local Abilene Tx tradition. Established in 1912 by the Vletas brothers who immigrated from Greece, this candy company is now owned by Pam McCombs who uses the original recipes and techniques to create the homemade candy. Well known for our yummy confections such as hand dipped chocolates, chewy pralines (served at George W. Bush's Inaugural Dinner), crunchy nut brittle, chocolate covered strawberries and decadent truffles, we also offer a line of sugar-free candies.

All candies made in store contain no preservatives and are hand-dipped using techniques handed down from the original generation of Vletas. We use special blends of milk, dark and white chocolates when making chocolate-dipped nuts, crèmes and in-season strawberries, grapes, apricots and cranberries. Then, a large variety of fudge, truffles and chocolate-covered Oreos complete a chocolate-lover's dream.
