Strategies For Change

Strategies for Change, formerly known as Chemical Dependency Center for Women, provides substance abuse prevention, intervention and treatment services. Founded in 1978, its outpatient substance abuse treatment includes individual counseling sessions every month, as well as child care and behavioral health support services. The organization offers the Options for Recovery, a program that teaches pregnant and parenting women basic recovery skills that support reestablishing healthy relationships with their children. Strategies for Change offers curriculum-based prevention programs and organizes educational classes and fun activities at schools and neighborhood centers to instruct youths regarding the ill effects of drugs and alcohol. In addition, it has conference rooms available to rent for groups up to 50 people. The organization is located in Sacramento, Calif.
