My Day Home AMDC was established in 2004 to prevent / delay the unnecessary/ premature institutionalization of person who:
*Are age 50 and older and reside in the community
*Are at risk of institutionalization due to a dementia related to Alzheimer's disease, similar disorders, developmental disability or cerebral pathology
*Require less than twenty-four hour care.
To achieve this objective, My Day Home provides a 104-slot adult day care program that enables cognitively impaired persons to function at their maximum and strengthens their family caregivers? abilities and coping skills.
My Day Home is committed to provide a safe and supportive environment designed to compensate for member's impaired abilities
* Comprehensive services including, nursing, activities, social, dietary and optional services to promote each member's cognitive, physical and psychosocial functioning at its highest level while preserving their self-esteem and sense of well-being
* Optional services available at My Day Home for no additional fee include transportation to and from the Adult Day Center of Totowa and the member's home and to medical appointments; bath service and extended hours. Optional services, which are available either on-site or at the appropriate Medical Provider's office onsite or billed by the provider are rehabilitation therapies (physical, speech and occupational therapies); laboratory specimen collection and analysis, radiological services and podiatry care.
* Caring, knowledgeable staff able to communicate with and respond to cognitively impaired individuals
* Caregiver support, information, education and communication to assist in strengthening caregiver abilities and coping skills
