Cooks Sportland first opened in 1954 in Monroe, Michigan, and because Edith and Ray Cook fell in love with the Venice area during a winter vacation, they relocated here in 1968 and have been at the same location since. It is a family business where wives, nephews and nieces stock the shelves and greet the customers. Cooks Sportland Sporting Goods' motto is to treat the customers like they would like to be treated themselves. The staff has the experience and knowledge to help you with fishing and hunting information as well as to use the equipment they sell. The staff has had years of actual hunting and fishing, with bows and guns. They are always willing to share their experiences and knowledge with the customers.
