Richard F. Wessel Jr, M.D., FACC

Richard F. Wessel, Jr., M.D., FACC, is a cardiologist in Potsdam, NY at the Helen Snell Cheel Medical Campus. Dr. Wessel is certified by the American Board of Cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He received his medical training at Eastern Virginia Medical School, completed a residency at Roger Williams Medical Center of Providence, RI, and did a fellowship at University of Connecticut.

It is Dr. Wessel's goal to help his patients get to the bottom of what their cardiac health concerns and conditions are. In some cases, cardiac issues cannot be corrected medically and surgery is necessary. Dr. Wessel works closely with cardiovascular surgeons to resolve these problems. He then provides post-operative care, including cardiac rehabilitation and medications.
