Behzad Soufer, DO

Dr. Behzad Souferzadeh (aka “Soufer”) is a leading family medicine doctor in Sherman Oaks, CA and Los Angeles, CA, who brings a unique, holistic and individualized, patient-partner approach to care. Praised for both his expert skill and compassionate bedside manner, Dr. Soufer offers comprehensive treatment, management and preventative care for a wide variety of conditions and diseases including: depression, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, urgent care needs, asthma, and diabetes, as well as, routine screenings, such as pap smears and STD testing.
Dr. Soufer earned a B.S. in biochemistry at UCLA, followed by a medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM). He went on to complete a one-year internship at North Shore-LIJ Health System (now called Northwell Health) and a residency in family medicine at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital. Due to his exceptional patient care and medical knowledge, Dr. Soufer was appointed Chief Resident and taught both medical students and newly graduated physicians.
Upon completion of his medical training, Dr. Soufer joined the highly-respected, 25-year-old practice of one of his mentors. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Soufer continues to educate medical students as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pomona, California.
Dr. Soufer’s extensive experience includes preventive medicine, chronic disease management, urgent care, and care for critically-ill, hospitalized patients. His osteopathic training and vast clinical work has shaped Dr. Soufer’s unique approach for providing individualized, holistic care that considers all aspects of a patient’s well-being: mind, body and spirit.
