Chittenden Solid Waste District

Welcome to Chittenden Solid Waste District. We have seven locations accepting small loads of recyclables, trash, compostable and many other items. Our environmental depot has a year-round hazardous waste collection facility for Chittenden County businesses and residents. Our materials recovery facility (operated by Casella Waste Systems) is a single-stream recycling center for large loads of blue-bin recyclables. We also have a large scale composting facility where all the food scraps and yard debris we collect are processed into compost.
