Apple Valley is actually three stores in one Townsend TN shopping center. Stretch your legs and browse the General Store and the Mountain Store (previously the Home & Gifts store), and perhaps grab a bite in the Cafe or a coffee from The Dancing Bean Coffee Shop & Bakery across the parking lot from the General Store.

In the General Store, you’ll find a huge variety of merchandise – from fudge and jellies to garden and home decor. Here you’ll find the perfect souvenir to capture the spirit of your Smoky Mountain adventure and take a bit of fun home with you. If you are headed to or from the Smoky Mountain's most popular destination, Cades Cove, you'll certainly want to stop by to pick up a guidebook and a map of the area!

Apple Valley Mountain Store is all about capturing the tone of the Smokies by combining the best in cabin decor, the highest quality food items, and brands such as Kavu, Minnetonka, North Face, Mountain HardWear, and Southern Tide, plus a large assortment of beautiful quilts! Apple Valley Mountain Store isn’t just a gift shop — it’s the only store of its kind, providing special selections with a Smoky Mountain emphasis.

Finally, the Apple Valley Café Express is a popular Townsend spot to grab a bite of breakfast, lunch or just a snack. Our Burger & Toppings Bar and our World Famous Apple Fried Pies are a must. We sell over 50,000 Fried Pies a year, and people come from all over the country to get one. We also have Blue Bunny ice cream and assorted homemade fudge. Our front deck or Cafe patio are great places to unwind with before heading into the mountains, or upon your return.

A new addition to the retail center is The Dancing Bean Coffee House & Bakery, offering delicious baked goods created by the culinary team at the neighboring Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro, as well as regionally-produced Kambucha, Nitro Coffee, fresh fruit smoothies, custom sodas, bottled juices, and imported and local bottled beers.
