Son's Island

Located near New Braunfels, Son’s Island on Lake Placid is a gorgeous, tropical feeling, three and a half acre island with 22 day use, open-air lakeside cabanas. With kayaking, paddle boarding, excellent swimming and wading areas, it is the perfect “day-cation” getaway, you and your friends and family will sure to enjoy. You access this private hideaway by driving across a 100 foot long wooden bridge and once you do , you discover a very special place. Large cypress and pecan trees outline the perimeter of our over 4,000 feet of lakefront property. The cabanas are Hawaiian style huts constructed with actual palm leaves for their roof. Each cabana will hold up to 8 guests comfortably and features: a picnic table, hammock, lounge chairs, BBQ pit, comfortable seating, bar top and stools, water, and electricity. All of the cabanas have their own personal swimming/fishing dock and there is a boat ramp only minutes away if you want to bring a boat or rent one of the pontoon or fishing boats on site surrounding the Island.
