American Technical Services, Inc. (ATS) is a locally owned consulting engineering firm that was established in 1992 to provide professional engineering services in the specialized areas of geotechnical engineering as well as construction materials engineering and testing. Our full service office now provides geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, materials engineering and testing and environmental drilling and well installation services to a five state area. ATS’ senior engineers also provide expert witness testimony, which comes from extensive experience in Structural, Geotechnical and Forensic engineering disciplines. Practicing Forensic Engineering is a form of reverse engineering. First, you start with a problem of an unknown origin, then you must figure out the origin of that particular problem. This is very similar to what a police detective does to solve a crime. Such cases may include cracks in foundation walls or floor slabs, “bouncy” floors, various structural failures, water infiltration, and much more.
