Plaster is the alternative to taping and mudding. It is much stronger and more decorative. It is completed in a faster time frame with no sanding. And the ceilings in the decorative sand finish do not have to be painted. Plaster consists of two coats,the basecoat and the finish. Either in sand texture ,smooth ,or tuscan skip trowel. All of the coats dry to a rock hard finish. I have been in the business for 25yrs learning it from my father-in-law and now my son is in the business with me.
