"Traditional nautical charts have long been a favorite decorating accent for coast lovers. Mounted in picture frames and reprinted on decorative items like lampshades and throw pillows, these old-time maritime maps often represent something deeply special—a hometown, a favorite vacation, a secret place. But when artist and Maine native Anne Zimmerman began to decorate her home with nautical charts of the shores she sailed by as a child, she discovered she loved their meaning but wanted a look that better matched her home’s more modern, colorful style. She longed for a new interpretation of traditional maps—something more vibrant and stylish. She set off to reimagine the common nautical chart by combining its geographical outlines with rich colors representative of the unique shorelines they denote. Coastline by Anne Zimmerman was born.

With vivid colors like cobalt blue, faded aqua and spring green, her designs carry a spirit and a story that impart special meaning and add vibrancy to any home or outfit. Anne’s abstract nautical chart designs come in a variety of decorative and wearable styles including artwork, throw pillows, bags, wine totes and scarves. She also creates custom designs for any location and prints them on tote bags and wine bags for destination weddings.
