Advances in dental sleep medicine allow these patients to finally get a restful nights sleep without the use of CPAP therapy. With a CPAP failure rate of ~50%, dental sleep medicine has emerged as an effective alternative to CPAP in most cases. Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is one of the greatest public health issues we face as a nation. Untreated OSA patients die on average 18 years younger than healthy patients due to the devastating comorbidities of OSA. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a patient break through the fog and fatigue of OSA and return to health and wellness.
