Kuk Sul Do means "The Way of Korea's National Martial Arts." It is one of the most comprehensive self-defense system in the world. Each styles and techniques were put together by the original masters who inherited family secrets and survived the trial. The fighting methods were practiced over centuries within Korean peninsula, naturally developed to defend against the both foreign and domestic enemies. It consists of three distinctive styles "Buddhist," "Family (Noble)," "Royal Court." It uniquely combines: stretching and floor exercises speed and power striking techniques power kicking also acrobatic kicking techniques graceful active forms weapons of common short sticks, staffs, swords, fans etc... falling techniques throwing and take-down techniques pressure point striking techniques joint locks, joint manipulation & grappling techniques Unlike many other martial arts today, it is not a competitive art nor sport. It is a traditional art that focuses on the science and physiology of a physical encounter, using smooth and fluid circular motions to divert an opponent's force, nonetheless, striking with deadly blow when necessary ("soft & hard" to describe ours style). The philosophy of Kuk Sul Do is turning the aggressor's momentum to my advantage for quick submission, therefore, breaking the aggressor's will to do harms against you. With the numerous time tested techniques for all situations, Kuk Sul Do gives you the ability to defend yourself against any attackers. We pride in ourselves in that one can learn all the above in our academy under one system.
