Wausau Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Wausau, Wisconsin, provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with an opioid addiction. MAT combines the use of medication and counseling to help adults work toward recovery. Individuals who take part in MAT at Wausau CTC receive a prescription for a medication such as methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, or naltrexone. These prescription medications work to decrease the severity of withdrawal symptoms, allowing adults to focus on the therapeutic component of treatment. MAT at Wausau CTC also includes individual and group counseling sessions where adults can build the skill set they need to achieve recovery from opioid addiction.
