Brad Peters

As a Registered Halifax Psychologist at Cornerstone Psychological Services, I work with a diverse clientele – providing therapy for children (10+), teens, adults, couples and families. I take pride in and continually work to develop my psycho-diagnostic abilities. I draw primarily from attachment and psychodynamic approaches, although I consider myself a theoretical integrationist and work collaboratively with my clients to create a therapy tailored to their specific needs.

My overall clinical philosophy involves one that aims to treat underlying issues (i.e. causes) as opposed to surface symptoms that might achieve only short-term relief. People are complex; they cannot be summarized by diagnostic labels or fit into cookie-cutter therapeutic approaches. My clinical experience has taught me that much, while my academic pursuits and experience as a university professor has helped me further develop this theoretical perspective.
