O U R .. B E G I N N I N G S: ..... Cardinal Door and Hardware started over **20 years ago** as just a thought. A salesman at our sister garage door company, Russ Jones, let it be known that he had previous experience and success in the hollow metal door field and would enjoy getting something going here in the Tampa Bay area. The owner of the company, Jack Stolze, listened to him and embraced the idea. The division was started from scratch, farming out everything. The no-name company was born and expansion began!
G R O W T H: .....We started with no dedicated warehouse or trucks and Russ as the only employee. Our sister company employed welders, so they started to learn how to work with hollow metal frames. Then we rented a small warehouse space and started some limited production, still with very little inventory. We started bringing in some inventory and growing. At that point we spun the new company off from the parent company and kept growing. We outgrew that facility and moved, outgrew and moved again and again as the company expanded, until we landed at our current (permanent) location, over **15,000** square feet with plenty of room for future expansion. During the growth process we added prehung wood doors, residential trim and entry systems to our full line of hollow metal doors and frames. Our sales staff now includes six experienced top notch professional project managers, headed up by Russ. Our warehouse is staffed with experienced welders, wood door unit builders, drivers, warehousemen and an inventory control specialist.
O U R.. N A M E: ..... Jack Stolze, President and Owner of Cardinal Door, and Russ Jones, Sales Manager, both have roots in St. Louis. Major League Baseball's St. Louis Cardinals inspired the company name. Gotta love it!
