Having attained a distinction in RGT Grade 8 for both Electric Guitar and Bass Guitar at 18, Tom began teaching guitar in 2011 in his local town in Northern Ireland. From there he went on and studied performance at the London Centre of Contemporary in Southwark, London, and continued teaching a few private lessons throughout his time there. After 3 years of intense studying Tom completed his degree and entered into the London music scene, quickly getting recognised as a top class act! Tom believes in the fact that tutors themselves should never stop learning, and as such Tom achieved a Specialist Certificate in Music Theory from the Berklee School of Music through an online course, which pushed his playing to the next level, benefiting not only his session skills as a live/studio player, but also his busy diary of students. Tom’s real skill is being able to take the vast amount of guitar playing and musical knowledge he has acquired, and pass it on to his students in a structured, approachable manner. From the moment his students step through the door in the trial lesson they know they are in with a pro!
