Baptist Center for Diabetes

Recognized for excellence by the American Diabetes Associates since 1995, the Center for Diabetes is an excellent resource for those with diabetes in central Alabama. Certified diabetes educators who are both registered nurses and registered dietitians teach patients one-on-one and in small groups about all aspects of diabetes management including blood glucose testing (monitor usually provided), medication, diet and exercise. Certified insulin pump instructors provide insulin pump therapy. Special programs for those patients with gestational diabetes are offered. Services are available to outpatients by self or physician referral. Insurance can be filed for outpatients with a physician's referral.
