Owner Jerry Wright (right) has been involved with Mazda for 33 years. Starting as a Mazda service manager in Auburn Washington. From 1970 until current he has supported and conducted engine service for many race teams.
In 1978 he started JLC, Inc., Mazdas Only, and JLC Racing. Jerry was the crew chief for the 1979 factory RX-7 GTU American team for the 24 hours of Daytona, which traveled to Japan and Australia. Also Jerry was the assistant crew chief in 1983 for the Mazda RX-7 GTO team. In 1990 one of Jerry's two rotor 13B motor was the winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona in the GTP light class.
