Through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan, our employees have a vested interest in the success of the bank and in our customer relationships. We believe that this interest is demonstrated by superior customer service. History State Bank of Hawley State Bank of Hawley was established in 1892 and has always been locally owned and operated. The current ownership acquired the bank in 1973. The employees (through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan) became part owners in 1985, and have increased their ownership since then and became majority owners in 2009. State Bank of Hawley – Moorhead Office In 1993 the owners of State Bank of Hawley recognized a need for an independent community bank in Moorhead. In January 1994 a full-service branch was opened at 3004 14th St South. On November 17, 2014 State Bank of Hawley was pleased to announce that they changed their name to Valley Premier Bank. This was done to illustrate that we provide banking services to not only the Hawley and Moorhead communities but the surrounding areas as well. Valley Premier Bank continues to be locally owned and operated by the same people in the same locations. Both offices offer traditional bank products, which include commercial, real estate and consumer loans, checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, safe deposit boxes and IRA’s as well as leading edge technology with online banking, mobile banking and bill pay.
