Book: Parenting Without Punishment

Emily Hunter Slingluff wrote "A Present to the Newborn" when a teacher asked her to write down what she had done with her son and daughter before they entered First Grade. Her way of parenting may not be the usual as she believes in communicating with the child instead of punishing. She writes that the parent-child relationship need not be a master-slave relationship. Instead it can be a friendly, open, happy relationship for both parent and child with the parent helping the child be the best he can be. She believes that rules are harmful in the parent-child relationship and can be replaced by guidelines. Then, pounishment can be replaced by communication.
