I bought tickets at Spectrum Travel for many years and I think what you said is incorrect, my sister bought ticket to Vietnam with her 5 years old daughter and she paid the same price for herself and her daughter because they bought United Airline with the package (5 days hotel in Vietnam) and because of that package children price is the same with adult price. I think you should ask your agent again if you're unsure about your price because the ticket price is different from week days to weekend and also depend on which airline, too. So which airline did you pick? You sure it nor United Airline??????

Bad travel agency because of being dishonest to customer.
My family bought 4 tickets to Vietnam last May 2006 at Spectrum Travel. 2 adults and 2 kids. My kids were 4 and 6 years old. The saleperson sold me the tickets name Nga which is the owner of Spectrum Travel. I heard kids under 12 will get discount and it only cost 2/3 of adult ticket. Nga said "it doesn't apply anymore. Kids are no longer have that discount." So I believed and bought at adult's price for my chridren.
Today, (March 2007) I found out from my aunt who got discount and only paid 2/3 price of adult's ticket for her 11 years old girl. My aunt and her daughter bought the ticket to Vietnam also. The only different was my aunt bought it from Spectrum Travel agent name Tam.
I feft rip off after heard the story. I should only need to paid 2/3 price for my children under 12 instead of same full price as adult. I would recommend anyone to buy ticket from Tam instead of Nga. Tam is more honest and will tell you any on sale price or discount she think will apply to the customers.
On the other hand, Nga (owner) will not tell you of sale price or discount that may apply to you.
After I heard this news, I talked to a few friends who bought tickets from Tam and Nga before and they said Tam is a better saleperson than Nga. If you want to buy ticket, request to talk to Tam and buy ticket from her. Don't buy ticket from Nga(owner of Spectrum Travel). Even though they are in the same office, they are selling airline tickets at different price.
