My special needs children have been at Special Kids for 6 years. They love to go. Staff goes above and beyond to help them, care for them and talk with me. They try to include my kids in activities, always give them meds and special meals and understand there little ways. My kids aren't always easy. Special Kids isn't the prettiest place. Alot of the kids (like mine) can be pretty destructive and I know they need help with funding. Most of their toys and stuff are donated. They are a non profit. But for parents like me who really need the help they offer, I don't know what we would have done without them. No oneelse would help me.

Special Kids
Just to let you know that as of March 2010, Special Kids has an amazing new Director. She has hired new staff and is very parent/people oriented. They are a small non- profit trying (and mostly succeeding) to do great things on a very small budget. They work with challenging kids and all children are loved, accepted and included. The building they are in is a source of frustration to all. But the good news is that they will soon be in their very own building designed just for the needs of their kids. They love volunteers and can always use a helping hand from the community to make things better.
