meh not impressed
I went after reading the gently used part. even the 6/9 month clothing seemed wash worn and not too gently used. The pricing was about the same as most of the childrens clothing stores and almost more than macy's jcpennys clearance racks. Alot of the other items such as cribs strollers and stuff I saw were almost the same prices as I saw new in some placesWouldn't Recommend
I've found them to be extremely picky in what they will take. Even stuff NWT is not taken. They don't recognize some high end label brands and have offered next to nothing for them.Children's Attire
We browse Once Upon A Child regularly. We have also brought items to the store for them to purchase. It is very true that they only take decent quality items. It is a place it seems you must frequent often as merchandise is always changing. The prices are very reasonable. I have bought many items in there for both my girls that still have orginal tags on them. Give it a try. I was glad we did. Most likely you will keep returning. We pay $$$$ on the spot!

I shop at Once Upon A Child often and all the people who work there are incredibly nice and very helpful. I am a single mother of 3 children and I have shopped here since my first child (she is now 12) and I still shop there for her too! I have gotten all my children's clothes, cribs & other things my children need. I'm sad that I am now done having children (my youngest is 9, and as I said before, oldest is 12) because sooner or later, I won't be able to shop there anymore! I have become real close to many of the girls that work there and I consider them part of my family. I've never really been to a store that I have felt that way before. As for the clothes, they are reasonably priced. I found a beautiful Gap jacket for $25.00 when in the store it was almost $100! The quality of the clothes is amazing for what you pay for. You can't buy a pair of Abercrombie fashion jeans for $12 anywhere else but at Once Upon A Child! I would recommend this store to everyone and anyone who asks me wripoff
sure its great to buy stuff there, although they are definately on the expensive side for USED items. But selling to them is rediculous! They pay very poorly. Try craigslist, ebay.... anything before going to them. They gave me 40$ for my $250 breast pump so they can turn around and sell it for $80. I regret almost everything I have sold to them. The only thing I take to them anymore is clothing because it is very difficult to sell online. They are VERY picky though.RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!
I went to Once Upon a Child with a $350 oak crib. Used less than 2 yrs and was in perfect condition. They wanted to give me $50!!!! Are they crazy?! I knew I wasn't gonna make a lot of money back, but GEESH!! You can't buy a crib like that anywhere for less than $200.00. I wouldn't bring anything there or shop there again. They have teenagers working who don't know the first thing about baby stuff so how can they tell you what you are going to get for them? Ridiculous!!! Not to mention they put your stuff down right to your face and make you feel like crap.jon
I was so disgusted, I had new clothing brand names with tags, they tried to give me $1.50 for a $32.00 PAIR OF NIKE CHILDRENS NEW SHOES. There are so many new places popping up, don't waste your time there, Bad, Rude customer service. dirty ,over crowded store. jonLOOK ELSEWHERE
I have bought from Once Upon a Child before and been very happy. However, I strongly suggest NEVER selling to them. You will get pennies for qualities merchandise, including clothes. I spent hours sorting through clothes, toys, etc.... and giving them only quality products. Clothes with tags on them, etc.... Almost everything I brought was given back to me except for a few expensive items which they gave me NOTHING for. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I should have known when a customer in the store saw me bringing in items and told me not to bother, that it was a waste of time. They were right. You will definitely want to consdider going elsewhere. Too bad, because it is nice to shop there.GumdropSwap is the alternative
I was unhappy with UOAC and didn't want to donate my 3 kid's clothes and not get anything for them. Then I found this website called http://www.GumdropSwap.com. It's a boutique based in Bridgeport, CT but you can do everything through the mail. So I swapped in a ton of stuff and got new stuff and nice gently used things in return. I got a lot more return on my investment with them and highly recommend as an alternative to UOAClailas mom
i have sold them some things that were brand new almost and i feel like they did cheat me. and i brought things the same day and what they gave me for my nstuff was ridiculous but i didnt feel like bringing everything back home so i took the change and put it toward what i purchased. needless to say it didnt put a dent in the 167.00 dollars i spent. and yes the staff is very rude, so ive decided to find another spot to bring my other things. and yes some of the shoes were not gently used, you can find nice shoes if you have the time to search all the bins.Worldwide > United States > Bristol, CT > Children Clothing
