Kovats Christian Do - Kovats excellent doctor, not so good staff
Dr. Kovats is an osteopath. From past experience, osteopaths are usually very good clinicians and diagnosticians and Dr. Kovats is no exception. He correctly diagnosed my osteoporosis, a condition which was missed on two separate occasions by an orthopaedist at the Jewett Clinic. Dr. Kovats also correctly diagnosed a friend of my parents. This patient had kidney cancer, and although this sounds odd, Dr. Kovats noticed a change in her voice (coupled with bloodwork, I think) that led him to believe that she had kidney cancer, which she did. Because of his expert diagnostic skills, this was caught at an early stage before it had spread. Downside: Dr. Kovats had a rule that the patient was not allowed to have anyone (family member or friend) accompany them to the exam room. Often it is helpful, particularly for the elderly, or patients who are nervous when they have an appointment, to have someone in the exam room with them to listen and help them to remember what the doctor had to say.
