Get the salmon!!!
Kobe can be hard to find -- it's location in the plaza is not that great. We originally took the trip out there to go to Joli Kobe, but they've changed their menu to a lunch-only offering. Thus, we walked around the plaza and decided to eat at Kobe Steaks instead. It's pretty similar to Benihana, but if I recall correctly, it's a little less pricey. I thought the food and service were well worth what we paid. Hubby ordered the salmon and scallops dinner; I ordered the filet mignon dinner. Mine was mediocre, but my husband's salmon was excellent. Wasn't seasoned too heavily, was swimming in lemon butter (I'm not a dieter, so I could care less), but that man cooked a decent piece of salmon so properly.......all kudos go to him. Hubby said the scallops were underseasoned, and I agree, but next trip I'd ask the chef to cook the scallops in lemon butter, too. The rest of the meal was good, no complaints. I'd say the restaurant decor is outdated, especially around the entrance and bar areas, and the bathrooms don't look great at all, but that's not exactly why I go out to eat anyway.THE best Japanese Steakhouse in Atlanta!!
this has been my favorite restaurant for over 20 years-the best teriyaki steak I have ever had!perfect for a special occasion
Our family has been eating at Kobe steaks for many years. The delicious food, huge portions, and entertaining presentation make it our children's choice for their special night out year after year. Most of the chefs are very personable and extremely talented, performing little tricks-of-the-trade as they prepare your meal. The fried rice at Kobe is the best we've ever had! And for a nominal fee, they'll take a photo of the birthday person or party, and have it transferred to a small cake at dessert time. Lots of fun, and LOTS of food!EVERYTHING IS GREAT, EXCEPT FOR...
Food and service are great, even cocktails are just right every time. We used to go to this place every year for birthday parties. But one thing... There are a couple of cooks who make sexual jokes. They actually spank the meat and says "who's daddy?"!!! We were forced to laugh to avoid the embarassment because we went there with a whole family. There were even grand parents and babies there!! I think this is a very inappropriate joke to make and it made us very uncomfortable. I miss their food, but The family don't want to go back there.Worst experiance ever
I just went there the night before valentines day. They were able to keep the reservation time and get us seated. But the food was awful. The chicken was mostly fat, and tasted like it was grilled Mcdonalds chicken. They try and lie to you saying its there special sauce for steak, but its basically hinz 57. Also they dont have the traditional White sauce that most japanese restaurants have. Lastly even there vegetables were bad, and they obviously get them in bulk, because they cook each vegetables individually. The seating is abnormally cramped for most japanese restaurants. 10 minutes after they took our meal order, they finally asked if we would like anything to drink. I well never go back to kobe steak house, ever. They are obviously trying to save money by sacrificing service and food quality.Worldwide > United States > Atlanta, GA > Sushi and Japanese Restaurants
