Glendale Montessori is such a wonderful little gem that I am tempted to keep its whereabouts a secret. At first glance, the school appears to have an urban setting, with a paved front yard and three classroom buildings grouped around a common courtyard. However, if you look behind the caretakers bungalow in the adjoining lot, youll discover that the entire space has been converted into a shaded play-yard with several climbing structures and loads of (dust free) sand to romp in. The children at GMS are blessed, and heres why. They have outstanding teachers, many of whom have been with the school for over ten years. The classroom environments are cooperative, peaceful, clean, and well-stocked with materials that are state-of-the-art. At GMS one thing is very clear: all of the schools resources go back to the students with the goal of providing the best education possible. The children are the focus. The only down-side to GMS is that it stops at 2nd grade, and although many parents have
