If you have ANY type of disability Dr. Chiccotelli is NOT the doctor for you! I started seeing him in the middle of Janruary. I had a tumor in my spinal cord and have had multiple spine surgery. (My scar is 18 inches and im only 4 ft 11) The way my insurance company works is that I need a referal to see a specialist (as most insurance company's do). I asked the receptionist and office manager 6 times in a period of two months to submit a referal to my insurance company. Two days before my appointment I called for the last time to beg for a submittion to the insurance company. They pleaded with me saying several times that either the3y already submitted one or that TriCare (my insurance company) does not need a referal. Monday morning I called my insurance company to get the authorization number and the lady on the other line gave me the horrific news that a referal was not submitted and I was not able to see my specialist for a spinal cord insurance. I called Dr. Ciccotelli's office begging them to please submit an emergency referal so I could make my appointment. Not only were they so rude, they hung up on me twice and blocked my number (which they admitted). I ended up driving 40 minutes to the office to physically ask/beg. I arrived at the office simply showed my scar to the receptionist and she called the office manager to my assistance. She (Mary) is in charge of the whole office and was the one who hung up on me. She didn't even listen to me, she called the police because I was "Irate" and "insubordinate". I didn't yell or curse I just begged. Needless to say it was a horrible day and I felt helpless. The next day I put a call into the doctor (who is the only person in charge of the entire office and buisness). Dr. Ciccotelli called me several hours later and after I explained that I was disappointed and horrified at the (lack of) service, he did not say "I'm sorry, I'll speak to them" or "that's unexceptable" he told me I was wrong and that they have NEVER submittede a referal to TRiCare for anyone before (which is funny because they submitted one in Feb. for a cardiologist). He said and I quote "you need a psychiatrist" then he hung up on me! How could anyone let alone a doctor deny someone who ios handicap the right to see a specialist.
