DO NOT RENT FROM OR HIRE AS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

I've had multiple problems with reaching staff during business hours, unreturned phone messages and emails, no action after multiple requests for information, an unreturned security deposit, and a total lack of concern for the urgency of my requests.

If you can avoid this company, do so at all costs!!!

Great service, helpful, friendly

I have rented from many different management companies through-out Oregon & California. Alpine was very pro-active in helping me find a rental property to live in and their office staff was very friendly and courteous. When my job transferred me back to CA - they promptly sent me the move-out instructions and after our walk-thru, my deposit was refunded within the 31 days allowed by law. I would highly recommend Alpine to someone who is looking to rent - they really do try to take care of you!!

Avoid at all costs

Never, ever do business with these people. I've been renting one of their properties for the past 18 months and can't wait to get out.

During my search: Fairly indifferent. They couldn't even get someone to meet me at the house and show it to me. They just gave me the code to the lockbox on the door to get the key and let me look around. They hadn't even met me in person, which should be a red flag to any homeowners looking to use them as a management company. I loved the house, though, so I made the mistake of signing the lease.

During move-in: Gave me what appeared to be random keys, none of which worked for the mailbox. Had to get one from the post office on my own. The only door key that worked was the one from the lockbox. Never have gotten a copy of the HOA rules after repeated requests.

While living here: Every time I tried calling them I'd get voicemail (or possibly the receptionist, who promptly sent me to someone's voicemail). I have NEVER received a call back from them, even when it was related to a lost-in-the-mail rent check. I just had to keep calling until I got a live person, but in the case of the lost check situation they felt it was OK to just ignore my calls altogether. Awesome.

Now: I'm getting the hell out of here. It got too expensive after my lease was up, so I started looking to move. Apparently they REFUSE to release my rental history because I haven't given my 30 days' notice. What?! I'm not stupid...why would I give notice until I have a new place lined up? I called and left messages at least 5-10 times and still no call back over a week later. This is just ridiculous.

I got extremely lucky and was able to find a new place that understood the situation and gave me a place with no rental history with an increased deposit, but it sure did cause a whole lot of unnecessary stress and lost sleep. I guarantee the vast majority of places won't rent to you with an incomplete application.

STAY AWAY!

Happy Tenant

I usually do not write reviews, but wanted to give Alpine two thumbs up for recently helping me. My fridge recently went out and they immediately delivered me a new one and even gave me a $50 gift card for losing some food. They treated me right and I really appreciate that. Thanks

Worst Company Ever

Very Rude. Kept over 2/3 of my deposit when I left the place spotless. Never sent me paperwork prior to move out. Office lady Lynn told me to be quite on the phone, WOW. Very unprofessional and rude. I have dealt with 10 different property management companies since moving to Portland. Always received a full deposit back, except from these idiots. If you own property please DO NOT use these people for the sake of your hard working, respectful tenants.

VERY HAPPY EX-TENTANT

I rented a very high end home from this company and was very pleased! I lived at this property for one year and just recently moved out. During my occupancy, they responed to my needs VERY promptly. I had a VERY bad experience with a another management company in Lake Oswego, but this company held their ethical values as Management companies should. I recieved almost all of my deposit back which was quite large (1800.00), but the house was left spotless and in great condition. To many times these days, landlords like to make a profit off of deposits. This was not the case with Alpine. I would definitely rent from them again, even if it ment less of house, because I trust there honesty. Also, one month my rent was one day late, due to a holiday being on a Sunday and me not knowing that the post office would be closed on that Monday :(. I called Alpine and they did remove the 100.00 fee. VERY FAIR COMPANY, as long as you are good tentants.

ALPINE HAPPY TO STEAL YOUR MONEY

This is the WORST management company out there. They WILL NOT return your deposit when you move out. We ended up paying them over $1450 in deposits and didn't get a penny. In fact we were charged $750 because they claimed they had to repaint the entire unit. After speaking with the manager she told me that is was their policy to repaint after 5 years of occupancy and we lived there 2 years. Does that make sense to you? Don't rent from these Crooks...you won't get a penny back.
