Matsumoto Donald M Od - Pacific Eye Care Ctr is excellent

I have been going to Dr. Matsumoto for several years. He is knowledgeable and helpful. He uses the latest high tech equipment. He has an excellent bed-side manner.

Matsumoto Donald M Od - Pacific Eye Care Ctr is awesome

Really good beside manners, you'll be really pleased with Dr. Matsumoto. He's also very friendly with the children, and makes them feel right at home.

Watch out for tests/exams not covered by insurance!

This was my third time in 3 yrs. getting my eye exams done at Pacific Eyecare Center. The first time, three yrs. ago they asked me if I wanted the test for Macular Degeneration, and explained that the condition can be very dangerous if let go, or not caught in advance. They even gave me a couple pages of info. to read and they informed me it wasn't covered by insurance. I agreed to it for the one time for the $35 charge.

The following year I believe that I declined to have that test, I don't remember paying for it. This year I asked if a specific test they were giving me that they said was to test of that same condition was covered by insurance and they said yes. They had already taken the photos that the Optometrist would "read" and charged me $35 for them. I protested slightly, saying they should have asked me in advance if I wanted a test that was not covered by my insurer. They said 'well it is a good test to have". That should have been my choice to make, not theirs. I would choose to have this test every two or three years, since I am still fairly young and healthy and have had no eye injuries.

I resent paying for something that I did not request. I will most likely not return next year for my exam to Pacific Eyecare. I will find an office where they are more communicative and caring.
