YMCA Childrens Center Woburn-horrific conditions!

I had to withdraw my 4 yr old son from the summer day camp. My son had heat exhaustion from being outside on a 90 degree day with minimal water. They were supposively letting the children play in the sprinkers and play water games. Unfortunately that was not being done. They were being sent outside for 30-40 minutes according to the Executive Director of the YMCA Childrens Center in Woburn Ma, and the teachers never put the sprinklers on. My son was physically sick when I picked him and his teacher of 15 plus years experience didn't even notice. It was horrific looking at my son in that condition. The Director and Executive Director were notified; they stated that changes would be implemented immediately. Unfortunately a little too late. PLEASE be careful when leaving your child in the care of "supposively" reputable people.

Great but inconsistent programming. We've really liked three of our five swim teachers, one was just okay, and one was just awful. The front desk too is inconsistent. I've called within an hour on several occasions to cross reference inaccurate information. Depending on what manager is on, you may be compensated for incorrect information that results in a missed class, or get a too bad and a shoulder shrug. If you work through the irritations, you'll find interesting programming for all ages. We started swim classes at 6 months and at 2 my daughter is able to paddle around with the aid of a few floatation devices. I can see how early lessons can help build confidence and skill.
